Picked up my bike back from the dealer today. Did 600 mile service (sort of), checked into the lack of rear brake and was supposed to realign my fairing pieces after the shaking it took when a bolt fell off. It's been about 8 hours since I picked it up and I think my blood pressure is almost back to normal. Anyway without crucifying Honda East too bad till I go back tomorrow and see what they will make right, let's get to the fairing.
Is there a source other than your local stealership to get the little black plastic washers that go under the bolts, particularly the 6 that secure the upper covers ( I think that's what they're called). 2 were missing and one is cone shaped instead of flat. Oh yea, not one single bolt in the whole "F"ing fairing was snug. Not windshield, upper, mid or lower, nothing was even snug yet alone tight.
I'm going to use the same picture from my other thread as even with trying to adjust it, it is still the same.
I know Grn14 said it isn't too bad and in the grand scheme of life it isn't but it bugs the heck out of me especially since it wasn't this way when I took delivery. Got this way with fairing shaking. Gap between tank cover and mid fairing is great on clutch side. the grills are very secure where the projections go into the grommets. the picture showing the brake side has the very uneven gap. thing is when you push in on the grills about where the big projection is the grill pops into place and the gap goes away. take the pressure off the grill and the pictured gap returns. It didn't look like the projection is messed up but the grommet doesn't look great.
One last request. If anyone could take a few pictures of the quick rivets that go into the fairing (i think there are 8) i'd appreciate it. looks like there are 3 different kinds and the technition ("F"ing hack) has different head sizes in matching locations,if that makes any sense at all.
I said I wasn't going here but I cannot resist. Are you supposed to have to chase threads in the frame after the professional worked on your motorcycle? also, I'm not sure but is oil supposed to be dripping from the oil drain bolt and filter? If I can take a picture or two without my blood pressure skyrocketing again I may take some showing how bad he scratched up the upper fairing trying to get the upper inner covers out (or in) and the tank cover.
Oh well, any help would be greatly appreciated. If this should be in Q&A or maintenace instead feel free to move it.
